Guyana Vs Venezuela

Venezuela detained a United States operated ship operating in Guyanese waters on Friday and through this specific action by the Venezuelans, Latin American and the Caribbean, both somewhat stable for sometime now, are being coerced unto the World stage as another "hot spot". According to reports, the ship - the Teknik Perdana,  operating with the blessings of the Guyanese government; was involved in oil exploration off the Guyanese Coast when it was intercepted and taken into custody by the Venezuelan Navy. This one incident reopens a long feud between the warm-water neighbors over Guyanese  lands west of the Essequibo River that Venezuela has claimed. The BBC reports that Venezuela has laid claim to this disputed piece of land since the 19th century when Guyana was still a British colony. Lets hope there is a quick peaceful resolution to this incident.
