Deaths on the Euphrates - the Killing of Fleeing Civilians by Islamic State Terrorists

The violent extremist terrorist group the Islamic State(IS), is slaughtering fleeing civilians trying to leave the Iraqi city of Fallujah, where Iraqi forces have started a campaign, to recapture the western city from the terrorists.

Some 50,000 civilians remain trapped in Fallujah, where the IS uses civilians as human shields against the advancing Iraqi army and the United States(US) led International Coalition forces.

According to an Associated Press(AP) report, on Sunday, the IS shot and killed seven civilians and seven IS defectors within Fallujah as they were attempting to flee the city. Also on Sunday, the Norwegian Refugee Council(NRC), confirmed that the IS killed a number of fleeing civilians on the Euphrates River as they attempted to escape Fallujah.

"Our biggest fears are now tragically confirmed with civilians being directly targeted while trying to flee to safety," the AP cited the NRC's Iraq country director, Nasr Muflahi. He added: "This is the worst that we feared would happen to innocent men, women and children who have had to leave everything behind in order to save their lives."

These recent attacks upon fleeing innocents by the IS, clearly underscore the chaos, the decline and the desperation of the terrorist group, whose fallible dogma and ideology, are seemingly failing and waning in final attempts to influence the displaced in the Middle East and the disgruntled in the west.
