An Aviation Tragedy - the Disaster of EgyptAir Flight 804

Earlier this morning, EgyptAir Flight 804 from Paris, France to Cairo, Egypt, crashed into the Mediterranean Sea - some 175 miles north of Alexandria, Egypt. Preliminary assessments are yet to determine the exact cause of the aviation disaster that killed all 66 people on board - 56 passengers and 10 crew, including three Egyptian security officials.

However, if stated speculation of terrorism as having downed the flight is ever proved true, then the international community must mount an open-ended campaign to bring those guilty to justice so as to ensure the safety of the vital, yet delicate, passenger air travel industry.

Media reports have confirmed that at about 10-15 miles into Egyptian airspace, at the point where Greek aviation officials would hand over radar monitoring of the plane to Egypt, the Airbus A320 aircraft traveling at an altitude of 37,000 feet, swerved 90 degrees to the left. Then, it spun through 360 degrees to the right before disappearing from radar at 10,000 feet.

As an international investigation led by Egypt begins, we offer our sincere condolences to the loved ones of those who perished in this disaster of EgyptAir Flight 804.
