Yet Some Beautiful Moments in March Amid Social Distancing

Today's note is brief and personal, very personal, yet I feel compel to scribe - to scribe into the annuals of time, just a sliver of a simple account of an unprecedented time that forever will be etched into the history of generations henceforth:

The month of March has, across my now lengthening years, never failed to deliver the best of times and the most testy of times. And while this could readily be said of almost anyone and of almost any other month of the calendar, March's gifts of weather and seasonal alterations, gives it a permanence of, and for change whether or not it "comes in like a lion and leaves like a lamb" or vice-versa.

March's fondest sincerities to me have always been the births of two of my four Sons - my eldest and my youngest, in this month and having their birthdays three-days apart.

Today, my youngest officially becomes a teenager and in demonstration of the guidelines to self-distancing, he could not have a party; so close friends have walked by and left him presents on the front porch. Under a distant-learning declaration here in Washington, DC, this new teenager still socializes with his friends in online games, thanks to technology and innovation. And he is happy that his Mum is making him a Red Velvet cake.

Yet, I'm caught up in the reality that tens of thousands of people have already died worldwide from the spreading Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and that hundreds of thousands more could succumb to the disease being spread by this pesky submicroscopic infectious agent, which has humbled humanity, while exposing our inherent weaknesses.

Farther north up Interstate 95 from Washington, DC, in New York City, New York, my eldest Son, also celebrated a March Birthday the other day, also while under, and obeying, COVID-19's guidelines to stay at home. Thus, my two beautiful experiences of the month of March have come in this 2020 under an especially stark new social norm for our Republic and for scores of nations across the world.

March 2020 will be remembered as the month COVID-19 took parasitic host within America and established social distancing. Thus, in spite of my personal Blessings of this month of March, I remain very cognizant of the dire health tragedies occurring across this nation and the world. My mother died on 'Pie Day', 03.14.15, March 14, 2015. Her death acts a coping mechanism for me within this time of the virus.

But I happily declare that the Blessings of March will always out perform all ills of the month. And this month will deliver us unto another month in which we - the people, retain all the actions to ensuring the continuity of families and nations.

Here's to Good Health everybody.
