The hour nears to Election Day, Tuesday, November 06, 2018, in the United States (US). The Midterm Election is a contest of local political races and State governorships, but more importantly, a battle for control of the Federal Legislature, the US Congress - the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Republicans currently have a majority in both Houses which has supported and facilitated President Donald Trump's divisionist, isolationist and nationalist agenda over the traditionally multilateral US Republic.
Amid great discord and growing racist violence across the nation, Americans have an opportunity on Tuesday to trump the present administration's polarization activities and to install a Democratic Party majority in at least one of the legislative bodies, as a means to placing checks and balances upon a runaway administration, which appears to have turned away from the founding principles of opportunity, liberty, equality and justice for all.
The political scape in America has changed considerably in the past two years. The land of immigrants has become a non empathetic place to the world's needy and displaced peoples. The multinational Republic has backed out of global pacts to end strife and to protect the environment. Administration spats have emerged with traditional allies, thus weakening the Republic's respect and sphere of influence across the globe.
But come Tuesday, Progressive Americans could place the US back upon the pedestal it once stood by denouncing racist xenophobic rhetoric and by voting overwhelmingly for Democrats for the US Senate and for the US House of Representatives. May God Bless America.
