If government is of the people, by the people and for the people, then that government should always allow, encourage and welcome independent transparent oversight of all its actions and its doings across all branches of the people's management of the affairs of their state. Any action to stifle or to prohibit such oversight of government and its politicians, borders on treason.
Therefore, over the next two to four-years, the Congress of the United States of America has a high responsibility to the American people so as to ensure that all branches of government remain transparent and open to independent inquiry. It is one of the charges of the Congress to sustain open and democratic government.
Most American voters have endorsed the policy of an open government. Each Representative and Senator of the United States must be held accountable for truth, fairness and openness in government.
