When is enough violence enough? When is enough conflicts enough? When are enough deaths enough? The answer is whenever there is at least one incident or at least one death. And in Syria, enough is enough - enough has been enough for a very long time.
The pain and suffering of fathers and mothers forced to bury their children way too early is enough. In excess of 250,000 deaths are more than enough. Therefore, now is the opportune time to end the pain, the suffering and the deaths in the Levant. Solace must come to the dwindling population of Syria.
As true as peace cannot function or be sustained with any active and direct connection to the past - a past of violence, deaths and crimes against humanity, the Bashar al Assad regime should relinquish any claims to the governance of a new Syria. The people of Syria should be allowed to restart anew with very little baggage from the violent and turbulent past. The children of the Levant are deserving of a clean slate.
