Capitalism - that individualistic economic system for profit that has fueled industry, innovation and much of human development for many generations, is good.
But irresponsible capitalism that allows greed to run corporate board rooms, that stokes the desire to dominate others and that which endorses the practice of the abridgment of human rights to sustain profits, is bad.
And in irresponsible capitalism, which flourishes in systems of inequality, lies the source of many conflicts to come.
Therefore, it becomes apparent that the capitalism that has given humankind great innovations and abilities for ease-of-life for so long, should remain responsible and sensible in profit-making ventures over the years in order to avert global instability and additional conflicts.
Fair profit is warranted. But, to expose populations to hazards and death through negligence and willfully acts for the sake of sound money returns, is dangerous, bad and counter productive. No capitalist should peddle products knowingly that do not meet the required applications to populations. Whether or not the product be baby formula or peanut butter; to hock dangerous goods, is bad.
Moreover, responsible capitalist should recognize that business and partnerships with human rights abusers, will result in sure losses in the long-run.
The greedy attraction for seemingly easy profits involving partnerships with human rights abusers, will be the largest teaser to responsible capitalists over the next couple of years. The decision taken by most capitalists on this issue, will decide the stability and the security of the world for generations to come.
