Fourteen-years-ago today, 2,977 innocent people were killed in three acts of terrorism on American soil. In honor of those tragically killed, the fight against terror continues so that never should there be a repeat of such a tragedy.
To this end all efforts must continue to strengthen the security of the homeland through all means necessary. Also, concerted actions should continue abroad to diffuse extremism that threatens global stability and serenity.
September, 11, 2001, served as notification of the changing scope and reach of terrorism. Since then, many innocents have died at the hands of terrorists from Great Britain to France and elsewhere, thus underscoring the continued threat posed by those set on inflicting mayhem upon civilized society.
Therefore, on this September 11, 2015, the global community must reaffirm to the eradication of extremism on all continents. And this reaffirmation should be taken mindful of the conditions and the bad actors that contribute to the rise and spread of terror.
