In lieu of a viable functioning method to quickly and to efficiently process thousands of spirited refugees seeking solace in Europe, Hungary, along with the erection of a wall, has resorted to corralling asylum seekers exposed to the elements, in its rural cornfields.
But with the exhibited tenacity to free themselves of oppression in their lands of conflict, the cornfields of Hungary are but a small hurdle to freedom for many refugees attempting to reach the welcoming nations in Europe and Australia.
Mother and fathers with children in hands are continuing to out-sprint Hungarian police away from the unsanitary corralling fields to find solace deeper within Europe.
Hungary's attempt to execute the law by fingerprinting and document checking of so many refugees is flawed. With no proper facilities to hold thousands of asylum seekers as the slow documentation process is carried out, Hungary is exposing thousands of displaced people to undue suffering.
Therefore, as part of Europe's plans for the acceptance and the integration of tens of thousands of asylum seekers, the European Union(EU) should readdress the policy of documenting migrants at points of entry, with a view to reallocating the process to within intended states of residency. Only after migrants have reached Germany or Austria or France could the process be conducted thoroughly and humanly upon new arrivals.
